Low-Risk Drinking Guidelines

The following table explains the number of standard drinks one can have in a day and in a week for men and women, to remain in the low-risk guidelines for alcohol related problems.

0 All: zero drinks = lowest risk of an alcohol related problem
2 Healthy adult drinkers: No more than 2 standard drinks on any one day
9 Women: up to 9 standard drinks a week
14 Men: up to 14 standard drinks a week
